here's a quick update after a long long while ...
started work like 4 months ago... guess i took quite a while to get used to the idea work work as well as the schedules that i'm put into now.. but here's some stuff that has been happening in my life during the past 4 months
Started work in late june.. got into RS2 and had a disappointing start.. I was assigned to do internal audit (our department offers 2 services -- IA and ERM) instead of ERM. Damn sian cos the ERM team is obviously the fun team!!! first job was on NOL, we call it POM (policies operating manual).. and i've been poming since then!!!
its like WTF!! the whole pom thingy was supposed to end like in sept.. and its close to NOV!! sigh.. last i heard, the project will last till jan!! imagine i'll have to do POM for another 2-3 months?!?! *faint*
well.. at least on a whole, my department is fun! we have monthly drinking sessions (fully paid by our partners) , most of us attend company function like sports day and welcome nite (bloody shit! i kanna sabo on stage and promptly fell in front of everybody!! but who cares! i won 2nd prize leh!!)
mmm.. just think in the line of department retreat with plenty of booze (hard liquor/wine/beer) and a buffet (inclusive of 2 chef, lobster salad and satay roasters)
something i don't really understand is... our usual day start at 9am (even though official time is 8.30), go for 1 hour breakfast (after we set up our lappys), 2 hour lunch (typically we have our main course then drop by "wang jiao" or "mr teh tarik" for drinks) and 1 hour tea (lesser now cos partner complain!!), we end work at abt 6 plus 7, and we can claim all the taxi fares we want!! nice department and fantastic/generous partners aka boss... no hierachy system (seniors and managers behaves as if they're your good friends.. unlike in external audit) u get to report to managers/ partners straight... no office politics... SO, other than the miserable pay (which has constant increment of 400/800 alternate years) why would ppl wanna quit??!?!?!?? its kinda the perfect job for me.. u get to try different industries/functions when u're on different jobs, interact with ppl rather than stare at the computer screen the whole day... U get to decide your schedule/ where to work... etc.. and still the turn over rate is so high!!! we did a quick count today and realised that ever since i stepped in, 13 ppl has tendered their letter and left!!!!!! thats like 13 in 4 months!!
sigh... seeing peers leave the company is the saddest thing on earth... maybe i'm not used to ppl leaving.. thats why it kinda bothers me to see ppl leave.
sad.... (going for a going away session at 6.30pm... 2 more leaving)
